Rocket Lab is developing a new large rocket and building satellites for a full range of services

Rocket Lab, exploring potential uses for its satellite constellation, announced its intention to independently develop a business similar to Starlink to ensure stable income. This was stated by one of the company's executives last week.

Rocket Lab's chief financial officer, Adam Spies, noted that they are looking to emulate SpaceX's success and penetrate the space applications market. SpaceX has chosen broadband and other Starlink applications as one of its key focus areas. Rocket Lab is also considering various applications for its satellite constellation and plans to create an end-to-end system including development, launch and operation that will generate recurring revenue from customers.

«We want to pave our way into the application market. SpaceX has chosen consumer broadband and other Starlink applications as its anchor application in space. We are considering an integrated approach: creating, launching and operating satellites for a constant stream of income», — said Rocket Lab CFO Adam Spies.

Rocket Lab is already a successful full-service space company. It launches the small Electron rocket for commercial customers and is also developing the larger Neutron rocket, similar in size and payload to SpaceX's Falcon 9 rocket. The company also develops and manufactures a full line of space systems, including satellites and components.

At the 45th Aerospace and Defense Conference on February 14, Rocket Lab representatives emphasized their commitment to further expansion and collaboration with US government agencies. The company has already received a contract to create 18 satellites for the Space Development Agency in the amount of $515,000,000.

However, Rocket Lab is committed to developing its payload capabilities. This month, Rocket Lab announced it has raised $355,000,000 in funding, which will allow them to expand their range of payloads. The company is also considering acquiring new technologies to complement its portfolio.
