AvtoVAZ listed in detail all the features of the most off-road Niva
Lada Niva Bronto occupies a special position in the AvtoVAZ lineup, as it is the most off-road version of the “legendary Niva”. And now AvtoVAZ has described in detail how the Bronto differs from the standard Niva Legend.
On «Bronto» not only self-locking differentials are installed in the front and rear axles, but also original gearboxes with «off-road» the main pair of gears, due to which greater torque is realized on the wheels (and this is important for off-road use).
The Niva Bronto has a reinforced rear axle (additional elements are welded to the beam to increase the rigidity of the structure), more energy-intensive springs are installed in the front suspension (stiffness increased by 10%, height by 40 mm ) and shock absorbers with increased rebound travel.
Instead of CV joints, the front drives are equipped with cardan joints, which are better suited for operating the vehicle on severe off-road conditions. To install larger wheels, the front and rear arches were trimmed. The front and rear overhangs were also trimmed – this improved the geometric cross-country ability. AvtoVAZ emphasized that trimming is carried out before applying cataphoretic primer and painting, so this does not affect corrosion resistance.
Niva Bronto has reinforced side members, front panel, driver's seat mounting bracket. Three additional amplifiers are registered on the roof panel.
Niva Bronto received «toothy» tires «Kama» dimensions 235/75, as well as special 15-inch alloy wheels and wheel arch extensions. There are two options for the front bumper: power and plastic. The latter provides space for installing towing eyes.
Finally, the Niva Bronto has the highest ground clearance (240 mm) and the highest approach and departure angles – 47° and 41° respectively.
