Russian microelectronics manufacturer «Element» in 2025, it will launch mass production of radio modules and electronic components for 4G and 5G cellular base stations. About this publication «Vedomosti» said a source in one of the electronics manufacturing companies and was confirmed by a representative of GC «Element». Source «Vedomosti» states that «Element» has already concluded a supply contract with one of the Russian mobile operators.

Electronic components that the Russian company will produce include microwave transistors, navigation chips, housings, specialized communication processors, etc. The radio module is designed to receive, transmit, process and convert radio signals, as well as their amplification . Representative of the Group of Companies «Element» noted that the company plans to become a significant player in this market.

Components for base stations will be produced by several enterprises belonging to the group in different regions of the country. For example, the development of modules will be carried out on the basis of Tomsk State University (TSU) — The university has already concluded with «Element» agreement on the creation of a research and production cluster.

The development and production of base stations in Russia are carried out by «Irteya», Yadro, «Bulat» and «Spectrum». Each station requires three integrated radio modules. The average annual demand of Russian cellular operators for base stations is 100,000 units, so domestic ones require about 300,000 radio modules per year, experts say.
