Compared to 2022, the production of airplanes and helicopters in Russia has collapsed
The State Transport Leasing Company (STLC), which finances the supply of most (if not all) airplanes and helicopters in Russia, has published a «Review of the Russian transport complex based on the results of 2023». It contains statistics on the production of civil aircraft and helicopters, and they look depressing: in total, 98 units of this equipment were produced in Russia in 2023.
89 of these 98 — helicopters. Four aircraft weighing from 2 to 15 tons were produced, and large aircraft weighing more than 15 tons — only five. Moreover, if we talk about airplanes, then some of them are not production models, but prototypes. For comparison, in 2022, 199 helicopters, 18 small aircraft and 10 large aircraft were produced.
«For objective reasons (aircraft factories are loaded with military orders, comprehensive work on new models of domestic aircraft), our own production of civil aircraft has dropped somewhat. Thus, according to Rosstat, in 2023, 89 units of civil helicopters and several prototypes of passenger aircraft were produced», — explained in the State Transport Leasing Company.
