Samsung smartphones will have a completely new shooting mode that will combine astrophotography and portrait photography

In the code of the proprietary Expert RAW application for Samsung smartphones, a mention of a new mode with the self-explanatory name AstroPortrait — it will combine astrophotography and portrait photography.

The lines of code even contain a description of the mechanics of the new mode. The meaning is something like this: first the smartphone takes a picture of the person, then the person must leave the frame (after the flash goes off) — and a photo of the starry sky will be taken. After this, the phone will superimpose one photo onto another.

AstroPortrait may appear in one of the next releases of Expert RAW.
