It’s not yet clear whether such modified vehicles will go into mass production
Today, BYD, as part of a big event in China, presented completely new models of the Leopard line (in particular, the large Leopard 8 SUV). Well, the serial (and already on sale in Russia) Leopard 5 has two new interesting versions.
«Leopard» stood on tiptoes: a new suspension with reinforced shock absorbers and large wheels with off-road tread was installed on the yellow car — ground clearance has increased noticeably (although BYD does not say by how much). At the same time, no other improvements are visible, except in the suspension.
Cars with a combination paint job are another matter: they not only were raised, but also received an add-on on the roof, to which a ladder leads in the rear. What kind of add-on — it’s unclear, maybe it’s a tent.
The cars do not have power bumpers; the power plant, apparently, also remained standard. Let us remind you that the BYD Leopard 5 is a 680-horsepower hybrid; the SUV accelerates to 100 km/h in 4.8 seconds. Maximum power reserve — 1200 km.
