This will be one of the most powerful Kia cars
Korean Car Blog has revealed the characteristics of the future Kia sports sedan, which will become the ideological successor to the Kia Stinger, which is well known in Russia. The code designation of the new model – Kia GT1, but the car may go on sale under the name Kia EV8.
This car will be built on Hyundai's new generation electric platform – IMA (Integrated Modular Platform). The top version will have two electric motors with a total power of 603 hp. This will make the GT1 one of Kia's most powerful electric vehicles, even more powerful than the Kia EV6 GT (577 hp). But, naturally, the GT1 will have simpler options: the base one with 215 hp. and «average» with a power of 429 hp. The base version will likely have rear-wheel drive.
Another feature of the Kia GT1 – large traction battery with a capacity of 113.2 kW·h. That is, it will be even greater than that of the flagship Kia EV9 SUV (99.8 kW·h). Accordingly, the cruising range of the electric car will be 700-800 km, and these will be very real kilometers, not advertising ones. Production of the Kia GT1 will start in 2026 at the plant in Hwaseong (South Korea).
