After his departure from Platinum Games, Hideki Kamiya began a “career” on YouTube and answered questions from viewers in a new video.
He was asked about a possible Devil May Cry remake, to which the game designer replied that the idea sounded attractive. But now he is interested in working on other franchises, including Okami and Bayonetta.
He admitted that many games have already received remasters and HD ports, but working on remakes is great thought. Kamiya has hinted that he would make gameplay changes to a potential remake of Devil May Cry.
It seems that we are talking about a remake, reworking the game from the ground up, making it similar to a modern release thanks to excellent visual design and complex gameplay mechanics.
The franchise is now in the hands of Capcom with Hideaki Itsuno's team working on Dragon's Dogma 2, so no new Devil May Cry games are expected for the next few years.
