Maxim Sokolov continues to advocate supporting only genuine Russian production

The head of AvtoVAZ, Maxim Sokolov, gave an interview to RIA Novosti, in which he talked quite a bit about the presence of Chinese manufacturers in our country, as well as the so-called hidden import, when at domestic factories they simply screw wheels onto Chinese cars and hang them up. our nameplates (and even then not always, if you remember Solaris).

He noted that cars such as Kaiyi, Citroen and Hyundai should not be bought by government agencies.

We see Kaiyi and Citroen models in the list of cars approved for the state order. These are Russian cars? Probably not entirely. Hyundai also left Russia a long time ago, and what is now being produced from leftovers probably should not be bought by government agencies. Nevertheless, it happens. In general, I believe that it is wrong to consider any car produced in Russia – even if you screwed a nameplate here – domestic. This is not a domestic car, it is a hidden import. Let's call a spade a spade.

He also added that the Russian and Chinese auto industries, which they are trying to pass off as locally produced products, are in unequal conditions.
