Old Macs with Intel CPUs will not work
Apple has confirmed that developers who want to create apps for the Vision Pro headset will need to have a Mac based on Apple Silicon processors.
Initially, such a requirement was included in the first beta version of VisionOS, but then it was unclear whether this was a temporary restriction or a permanent one. Now Apple has confirmed that it is permanent.
Apple did not disclose the reasons, but it’s probably all about the latest versions of the software that needs to be used for development. Still, Vision Pro — new product, and it makes sense that the software development tools for this product work best with the latest Apple processors.
We remind you that the new product will go on sale on February 2, but initially only in the USA.
