Prices range from $25,000 to $83,000
Toyota introduced the sixth generation of the HiAce van back in 2019, although the previous fifth-generation model is still available in the Japanese domestic market, where it was updated in early 2024.
The popular minivan has remained virtually unchanged since 2004, but it has become shorter. The new Earth Color Package, available exclusively on the flagship Super GL diesel trim, combines a beige hue with a matte black grille, while maintaining unpainted bumpers and chrome trim on the mirrors and door handles.
Another update for 2024 — a new wheelchair mount for the HiAce Welcab, which the manufacturer says will speed up the process of securing a wheelchair inside the cab.
Finally, the ambulance version of the HiAce now comes standard with «ITS Connect» (intelligent transportation system), which helps reduce emergency transportation time and prevent accidents by transmitting signals to traffic lights and nearby vehicles.
The powertrain range carries over from the previous model year, including 2-litre petrol, 2.7-litre petrol and 2.8-litre diesel variants. Cars are available in both rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive versions. The same applies to the Toyota Safety Sense package, which is limited to basic ADAS features such as Pre-Collision Assist, Lane Departure Warning and Automatic High Beam.
In Japan, the 2024 Toyota HiAce is available in body styles: regular van, passenger station wagon, long wheelbase commuter, high roof cab and ambulance. Prices start at $25,000 for the cheapest gasoline-powered van and go up to $83,000 for the most expensive, fully equipped ambulance.
