We've already learned a lot about the new iPad Pro that Apple didn't reveal at the presentation. But there's something else. It turned out that new tablets in versions with 5G modems do not support the mmWave millimeter range. 

The new tablets retain only support for the sub-6GHz range, while the previous generation iPad Pro on SoC M2 supported both sub-6GHz and mmWave.

It is unclear exactly why Apple abandoned support for the millimeter wave, but it is worth remembering that in this range the signal is transmitted over short distances. Considering that the iPad — This is often still a home device; perhaps mmWave support for it is simply not particularly practical. In addition, mmWave coverage is not particularly good even in the US, let alone other countries.
