The top 5 model ratings of the most common cars with diesel engines in Russia include only SUVs
Autostat counted 2.653 million passenger cars with diesel engines in Russia. This is only 5.7% of the entire passenger car fleet in the country.
The most popular «diesel brand» is Toyota: cars of this brand account for 16.6% (440.5 thousand units) of the auto segment. BMW is in second place (10.8% or 285.8 thousand cars), Volkswagen closes the brand rating (7.8% or 206.6 thousand cars).
The model rating looks interesting. In the first positions are two Toyota SUVs — Land Cruiser Prado 150 (120.3 thousand cars) and Toyota Land Cruiser 200 (90.5 thousand cars). And then follow Hyundai Santa Fe (79.7 thousand cars), Kia Sorento (79.1 thousand cars) and Mitsubishi Pajero Sport (78 thousand cars).
