The Zeta unit is suitable for electric buses, it will be tested on the new e-CityMax 9
The Russian company «Autonomous Energy Systems», which produces, among other things, batteries for the Lada e-Largus and the GAZelle e-City electric bus, introduced new rechargeable batteries «Zeta& raquo; for public electric transport. According to the manufacturer, the development is superior to most foreign solutions in its class.
Thanks to the use of new technologies and composite materials, the weight of the battery unit has been reduced while maintaining high energy density: it exceeds 190 Wh/kg with a weight of 390 kg. Battery energy «Zeta» is 73.5 kW•h. The company notes that such indicators will reduce the weight of electric buses by 300-400 kg, which will increase passenger capacity or allow for more energy, which, in turn, will extend the range by 40-50% with a comparable weight.
One block «Zeta» may be enough to operate an electric vehicle with a short autonomous run (for example, a trolleybus), and 2-3 units will ensure optimal operation of electric buses with fast charging — such, for example, are used in Moscow. New domestic batteries will be the first to be used on prototypes of e-CityMax 9.
