World of Warcraft was created quite a long time ago. Today, many things are perceived differently, a different approach to game development is practiced. The content of Blizzard games also reflects the spirit of the times
World of Warcraft has been on the market for many years. Over the years, attitudes to many things have changed, the approach to video game development and content creation – some creators are now trying to ensure representation of different communities. Blizzard is no exception in this regard; it also sometimes practices an inclusive approach when designing characters.
Dataminers continue to explore World of Warcraft. A remarkable female character model for The War Within was recently discovered.
The center of attention was Faerin Lothar: it is not difficult to notice the characteristic “elven” (pointed) ears, and also the skin color – this is a dark-skinned heroine. She also does not have one arm, but she has something like a prosthetic shield.
The “Lothar” part of the name should definitely be familiar to fans of the World of Warcraft universe, for example there is a male human named Anduin Lothar (and he's white). Also, some may remember about the “Arathi” – this is one of the ancient nomadic tribes of people, as far as was known “The last descendant of the Arathi clan was Sir Anduin Lothar.”
On the Blizzard forum fans World of Warcraft has already “shot back” with caustic jokes and hints at supposed “dark-skinned lovers”, this is how Faerin’s skin color is sometimes explained.
