For the first time in the last couple of years

Jeff Bezos, the founder of Amazon, sold shares of his company worth about $2 billion, Forbes magazine reports.

The sale took place on February 7 and 8, when Bezos sold approximately 12 million shares. For the first time in more than two years, one of the world's richest men decided to sell off some of his assets.

Despite the fact that Bezos left the post of head of Amazon two years ago, he remains on the board of directors and is the largest shareholder of the company, owning 9.4% of the shares. Forbes estimates his net worth at $196 billion, making him third on the list of billionaires.

Bezos is second only to Elon Musk from SpaceX and Tesla ($201.6 billion) and Bernard Arnault from LVMH ($219.2 billion).
