Microsoft has already abandoned support for Windows 7 and Windows 8. Other developments are gradually abandoning outdated operating systems
Destiny 2 has been on the market for many years. Over the years, new operating systems have appeared, and some are no longer supported by Microsoft.
The Destiny 2 developers have decided to move on. Bungie announced plans to end support for a number of legacy operating systems in a recent blog:
“Effective June 4, 2024, Destiny 2 will no longer support Windows 7, Windows 8, and Windows 8.1. This decision was made due to the end of support for these systems by Steam and Microsoft.
Destiny 2 may continue to run on these legacy operating systems after June 4, 2024, but we cannot guarantee continued functionality beyond that date.
Players For those using these operating systems to play Destiny 2, it is recommended that you update to a more recent version of Windows or switch to a different platform so that [you can continue playing without the risk of encountering errors].”
May 7 for Destiny 2 they plan to release a patch that will add three new maps to PvP modes: Cirrus Plaza, Eventide Labs, Dissonance.
