The place of the 1.7-liter engine under the hood will be taken by a new 1.8-liter unit
As Motor.ru reports, under the hood of the modernized Niva a new engine will be registered. This will be a variant of the 1.8 EVO engine presented today.
The engine will be 8-valve, the power will be 90 hp. For comparison: Niva Legend and Niva Travel use a 1.7-liter engine with 83 hp. So the power will not increase much, but the torque will probably be higher. According to rumors, Lada Niva with a new engine will appear in 2024.
Recall that the 16-valve version of the 1.8 EVO engine produces 122 hp. This engine has 25 new or upgraded components.
