The second model under the Changan Avatr brand, Avatr 12, began shipping to customers in 40 cities in China. This model received over 6,700 orders within 36 hours of pre-orders going live on November 10th. Cars were bought at a rate of 3 per minute. In total, the model received more than 20,000 orders.
The electric sedan has 578 hp, lots of Huawei technology, and no rear window. The all-electric hatchback is offered in three trim levels: Luxury rear-wheel drive (RWD) for $41,265, Performance 4WD for $46,750, and top-of-the-line GT 4WD for $54,895.
The Chinese-made electric car received a body with dimensions of 5020 ? 1999 ? 1460 mm with a wheelbase of 3020 mm. It is available in eight matte and glossy exterior colors. Avatr 12 is based on the CHN platform developed by Changan, Huawei and CATL. Its chassis has adaptive air suspension, which can be raised by 45 mm. Avatr 12 is equipped with an active CDC damping system. Air suspension and CDC will be standard on the GT.
The Avatr 12 transmission has two options. Rear-wheel drive with a motor provides 313 hp. and 370 N•m. The engine is powered by a triple CATL battery with a capacity of 94.5 kWh, providing a range of 700 km. The all-wheel drive version is equipped with a 578 hp engine. with a torque of 650 N•m, as well as a triple battery with a capacity of 94.5 kW•h, providing a range of 650 km. It will compete with Geely Zeekr 001, Nio ET7 and Rising F7.
Avatr 12 is also equipped with an advanced automatic driving system with three LiDAR sensors. It supports smart highway and city navigation features. The driver can only choose a destination and carefully monitor the movement process.
