PUBG does not stand still and is developing. Major changes are expected in the popular battle royale in 2024
April 9, the release of update 29.1 for PUBG on PC is expected. The developers decided to talk about what to expect.
PUBG will have a new mechanic called “Destructible Terrain”: it should open the first chapter of the destructible environment, which was announced in the plan for 2024 .
With the help of this mechanic it will be possible to create a shelter – by introducing destructibility, the authors of PUBG want to open up new strategies and tactics for players, increase the level of dynamism and unpredictability of matches.
Indicate the following features of the destruction mechanics:
- Terrain can only be destroyed to create cover when fighting in open areas.
- Terrain made of concrete, cement, rocks or stone is not subject to destruction.
- Terrain can be destroyed using a fragmentation grenade, Mortar, Panzerfaust, Sticky Bomb, C4, Vehicle Explosion and Pickaxe.
- The maximum destruction depth will be 1.3 m.
- Objects within the destruction range will only be destroyed if they were previously destructible.
- Items in the area of effect will not be destroyed, objects located on the map will become dropped items.
< li>If a player destroys terrain near an outside wall, the terrain behind the wall is also destroyed.
