But not for smartphones
Sony's range of medium format image sensors has been expanded with the IMX811 model with a resolution of 247 MP.
The new product, according to the creators themselves, is intended for industrial use, so at the moment it is not clear whether this sensor will appear in consumer cameras. But even if it does appear, not everyone will be able to buy such a camera. For comparison: Phase One IQ4 with a 150-megapixel sensor costs about 50 thousand dollars.
IMX811 features an aspect ratio of 3:2 and dimensions of 53.96 × 35.97 mm (diagonal — 64.84 mm, Type 4.1). This is a back-illuminated CMOS sensor, the maximum image resolution — 19 200× 12 800 pixels. Shooting speed — 5.3 fps with 16-bit color representation or 12 fps with 12-bit color representation.
