Earlier this year, President Vladimir Putin instructed the Government of the Russian Federation to «consider the issue of organizing the production of stationary and portable game consoles and game consoles, as well as the creation of an operating system and a cloud system for delivering games and programs to users& ;raquo;. And now it is reported that discussions on the corresponding idea are already underway. Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Vasily Shpak told TASS about this.

The idea of creating a domestic game console in the Russian Federation is being discussed, the discussion is ongoing, we are in touch with the industry community and collecting feedback on who has what resources to create it. We are fulfilling the president's instructions. At the same time, it is important that, first of all, there is something to play on these consoles. It is clear that this is a parallel process

There are no technical details, of course, yet, but previously there were hints that the Russian game console could be just an ordinary PC in some other case, which would automatically solve the problem of game compatibility. &amp ;nbsp;

At the same time, the industry understands that games should be the cornerstone, because without them the console is simply useless. The Deputy Head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade even stated that games today are one of the instruments of state policy in terms of educating young people

Therefore, this is a big, serious, complex work. And it is at the junction of not only the Ministry of Digital Development and the Ministry of Industry and Trade, but also the Ministry of Culture, the Ministry of Education

Shpak also noted that, given the current sanctions, foreign games will not be compatible with the Russian game console, so you need to not only create your own games, but also cooperate with developers from friendly countries. < /p>
