The result was not a “warmed up” car, as befits an ST model, but a “cooled” one
Ford today introduced the updated crossovers Ford Puma 2024 and Puma ST 2024. In good news, – an improved media system Sync 4 appeared, from bad news – Ford Puma has lost its 1.5-liter engines. And this, naturally, affected the power.
More precisely, the 2024 Ford Puma has lost its 1.5-liter turbodiesel. The ST version lost its 197-horsepower 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine and manual transmission – These units were replaced with a 1.0-liter 168-horsepower gasoline engine, working in conjunction with a 7-speed robot. Ford Puma ST 2024 – it's «soft» hybrid (there is a 48-volt starter-generator), the crossover accelerates to 100 km/h in 7.4 seconds – 0.7 s slower than the 2023 version with a 1.5-liter engine. In general, Puma ST is no longer ST.
The regular version of Puma – still the same liter gasoline engine, but less forced – it produces 123 hp. and is combined with either a 6-speed manual transmission or a 7-speed robot. Acceleration to 100 km/h, respectively, 9.8 or 9.6 s.
Externally, the subcompact crossover has not changed much – there was a new radiator grille and new matrix headlights. Buyers can choose from six colors, rims – dimensions from 17 to 19 inches.
The main innovation in equipment – the relatively new Sync 4 media system. The digital instrument panel includes a 12.8-inch diagonal screen, and the infotainment system is content with a 12-inch display.
