USA focuses only on technologies that may pose a threat to its security

Huawei recently introduced its first laptop with an Intel Core Ultra processor, which did not please US legislators. Now US Secretary of State Antony Blinken has personally spoken out regarding this issue.

Interestingly, he actually came out in defense of Huawei and China, although not directly. He said U.S. export controls on advanced computer chips sent to China are not intended to restrain China's economy or technological development.

I saw that Huawei just released a new laptop that it boasted was AI-enabled and uses an Intel chip. I think this demonstrates that we are only focusing on the most sensitive technologies that could pose a threat to our security. We are not focused on stopping trade or, for that matter, containing China

That is, the position of the US government is that the country is not going to ban everything for the sake of the very fact of banning it. At least based on Blinken's statement. In practice, everything will become clear in the near future, since Intel's permission to supply processors to Huawei expires sometime this year.

Recall that Huawei, judging by recent data, is already working on its own new processor for PCs, which, if necessary, will allow it to replace the Intel CPU.
