2023 was a historic year for BMW: the company sold a record number of cars, including electric vehicles.

BMW Group reported that the company shipped a total of 2,555,341 BMW, MINI and Rolls-Royce vehicles in 2023, up 6.5% from 2022. This is a record result in the entire history of the company, founded in 1916.

In the fourth quarter, BMW Group sales rose to 718,778 vehicles, up 10.3% from the same period a year earlier. Global sales of pure electric models from the BMW Group increased significantly last year, reaching 376,183 units, up 74.4% compared to 2022. In the fourth quarter, the BMW Group delivered 129,316 electric vehicles to customers, an increase of 47.7% compared to the same period in 2022.

The BMW Group is confident of growth in sales of pure electric vehicles in 2024. The company has currently launched 18 pure electric models covering all major market segments. BMW predicts that sales of pure electric vehicles will exceed 500,000 units in 2024.

In 2023, the BMW brand delivered a total of 2,253,835 vehicles worldwide, an increase of 7.3% year-on-year. A total of 330,596 BMW electric vehicles were delivered in 2023, an increase of 92.2% compared to the previous year. In the fourth quarter, BMW electric vehicle deliveries reached 113,458 units (+55.4%).

In 2023, the BMW M division sold a total of 202,530 «charged» cars, which was the best performance in the brand's more than 50-year history, with annual growth of 14.3%.
