And this is the fifth C919 in the China Eastern Airlines fleet
As ITHome writes, the Chinese airline China Eastern Airlines has launched its fifth medium-haul airliner COMAC C919. On March 2 at 9:30 local time, C919 tail number B-919F operated flight MU2999 from Shanghai Pudong International Airport to Shanghai Hongqiao Airport, the flight lasted 21 minutes.
All five COMAC C919s entered service in less than a year, and the commissioning time for each new aircraft is being reduced.
COMAC C919 is China's first indigenously developed long-haul jet airliner. Development of the aircraft began in 2007, the aircraft made its first flight in 2017. Capacity of COMAC C919 — 158 –192 passengers, flight range — 4075–5555 km.
COMAC C919 is an analogue of the Boeing 737 and Airbus A320 family aircraft, as well as the Russian MC-21. Last year it was reported that the serial MS-21 will take to the skies in 2024, but according to new data announced by the head of Rostec, the transfer of the MS-21 to airlines is postponed to 2025 (and maybe even to 2026).
