New Opel Mokka presented with consumption of less than 5 liters per 100 km

The new Opel Mokka has been unveiled, now available in mild hybrid form. It is powered by the most powerful version of the 1.2-litre three-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine, producing 134bhp. with a torque of 230 Nm.

The six-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission integrates a single 28 hp electric motor. with a torque of 55 Nm. Power comes from a small 48V lithium-ion battery that charges automatically when decelerating.

According to Opel, the mild hybrid system reduces fuel consumption by «about» by 20%, to an average of 4.9 l/100 km. On the other hand, average CO2 emissions have been reduced to 110g/km compared to 137g/km for the non-electrified Mokka range.

Even though the latest Mokka is only a mild hybrid, it can run on electric power up to 50% of the time in low-speed urban environments.

The Opel Mokka Hybrid offers a choice between Eco, Normal and Sport driving modes. Acceleration to 100 km/h is carried out in 9.1 seconds, and the top speed is 207 km/h.

Opel Mokka Hybrid is already available to order starting at €31,915 in Germany. The cost of Mokka with only internal combustion engine starts from 26,550 euros.
