Not a single game on Unreal Engine 5 can run in 4K on modern video cards without upscale? This is what developer Infuse Studio thinks

He doesn't remember any such games

Unreal Engine 5 games are very demanding, sometimes very demanding. Many of them require some form of upscaling to be enabled to get good performance at maximum settings. Jacob Sutton, co-founder of Infuse Studio, the studio responsible for the Spirit of the North games, told Moore's Law is Dead podcast that there probably isn't a single UE5 game on the market right now that runs at 4K without upscaling.

The point is that Unreal Engine 5 has its own built-in upscaling technology called Temporal Super Resolution (TSR), which is activated by default. That is, in fact, the engine developers themselves indicate that this is not an option, but a necessity. At the same time, game developers can already add support for other upscalers to their projects: DLSS, FSR or XeSS.

That is, even if none of the third-party resolution enhancement technologies are added, Unreal Engine 5 uses its own in the form of TSR. Without it, modern video cards, apparently, simply cannot cope with games on UE5 at maximum settings in 4K resolution.
