For 330 thousand dollars
Rare Ford Mustang Boss 429, one of 499 fastbacks built in 1970, sold at Mecum auction.
This sports car, which underwent a comprehensive restoration and traveled less than 700 km, was sold for 330 thousand dollars. It is worth noting that the new Ford Mustang in the Dark Horse modification costs from 58 thousand dollars.
Boss 429 was created to homologate a new engine for the NASCAR racing series, and was produced only in 1969 and 1970. It featured a powerful 7-liter V8 that officially developed 375 hp, but unofficial estimates put it at over 500 hp. These sports cars also had a special transmission, rear axle, reinforced suspension and disc brakes.
The piece sold at auction has been completely restored and is considered practically new. It aroused great interest among collectors, and prices for it rose from 210 thousand to 330 thousand dollars in just a minute.
