Microkernel operating systems (OS), which includes KasperskyOS, may appear on ordinary user devices in the next 3-4 years, as stated by Dmitry Lukiyan, head of the business department for KasperskyOS development.
In the OS microkernel, most of the functionality is transferred to separate applications, while only the most critical mechanisms necessary for the operation of the system remain in the kernel itself. This increases security and reduces the attack perimeter of the core itself.
