ASRock is showcasing a wide range of Intel Z890 and AMD X870 motherboards at Computex 2024. Interestingly, Intel has so far prohibited its partners from advertising new boards as Z890, although they already exist. One of the new boards is Taichi Aqua — ASRock announced the unification of the Aqua line with Taichi.
Aqua boards are suitable for liquid cooling, but it is not mandatory. There are relatively few such boards and most users don't need them.
The board features a 33-phase power supply, two PCIe x16 slots, two DDR5 DIMM slots, and supports up to six M.2 slots. The board could be the basis of a makeshift data server, but it also makes a great USB hub.
This board has not two or three, but ten USB Type-C connectors, while it does not have a single Type-A connector (regular USB). Of course, the board will still have a Type-A connector on the front of the computer, but not on the motherboard itself.

It is not known whether ASRock will equip the board with adapters for Type-A, but it seems that this is the first application for the old connector to become a thing of history. Almost all peripherals can now be purchased as USB Type-C, so this may be worthwhile.
