Equipment for mobile communication networks will be produced there

Despite the fact that Huawei is under fairly strict sanctions from the United States, which in most cases have been joined in one form or another by the EU countries, this does not mean that the Chinese giant is locked only within its home country. Huawei will reportedly begin construction of its new plant in France next year.

The new factory will produce equipment for mobile communication networks. The initial investment will amount to 200 million euros, and the launch of the facility is expected in 2025.

Initially, Huawei planned to begin construction of the plant back in 2020, but the plans were disrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

In 2020, the French government told telecom operators planning to purchase Huawei 5G equipment that they would not be able to renew licenses for that equipment once they expired, but after a meeting with French Economy Minister Bruno Le Maire in Beijing, In July, Chinese Vice Premier He Lifeng said that France had allowed Huawei to renew its 5G licenses in some of its cities.
