The premiere of the YaMZ-770 diesel engine took place at last year’s exhibition «Comtrans», and now «Technosphere» provides new details about this power unit.
YaMZ-770 – This is an in-line 6-cylinder engine with a volume of 12.4 liters, the compression ratio of which can be 17.5 or 20. Accordingly, in the first case the power is less, in the second – more. In general, the power can range from 360 to 620 hp
Maximum injection pressure – 2200 bar (microprocessor control). Cylinder dimensions – 130 x 156 mm, pistons can be either aluminum (in versions with power up to 550 hp, or steel (in versions with power from 550 to 620 hp).
The engine has a urea injection system, due to which the engine meets not only the requirements of Euro-5, but also Euro-6.
The mass of the YaMZ-770 is 1 ton, already based on this it is clear that the engine is not for mass production. It will be used in heavy tractors, construction equipment, and diesel generator sets. YaMZ-770 is currently being tested, serial production will start in 2025.
