It will develop software and hardware systems based on Russian chips
Developer of Russian processors «Elbrus» JSC MCST established a new structure — LLC «Elbrus», whose main activity is software development». This was reported by the publication «Kommersant». The new company was created on December 24, MCST received 40% of it, Research Center for Digital Technologies (SRC DT) — 35% and the Institute of Public-Private Planning (PPP Institute) — 25%.
General Director of LLC «PPP Institute» Elena Antipina told reporters that the new structure was created to develop and market domestic high-performance and safe software and hardware systems (SHC) based on Elbrus microprocessors. The complexes will use special software from the Research Center for Digital Technologies, which will maximize the technological capabilities of these chips. According to Antipina, the company is aimed at import substitution of PAK with real-time operation in the industrial automation market, including at critical information infrastructure facilities.
It is not yet clear what specific devices the Russian «Elbrus» processors will receive as a result. It is only known that the production of PAK will be organized in a new dual-use cluster, which is currently being formed in Moscow and the Moscow region, but the timing of its launch has not been disclosed. At the same time, a number of electronics and microelectronics manufacturers told Kommersant that the participants in the new project do not have their own production facilities, and practically nothing is known about their developments on the market.
