At least for GPU
Smartphones of the Galaxy S24 line are known to be based on both SoC Exynos 2400 and Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. And it seems that the first can actually sometimes be better than the second. At least, this is indicated by a fresh test.
The authors of the Beartai portal tested the Galaxy S24 Plus based on Exynos 2400 and Galaxy S24 Ultra on Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 in the 3DMark Solar Bay throttling test.
The results were quite unexpected. Not only did the S24 Plus initially score 8% higher, but it also showed noticeably less throttling, maintaining 64.6% of the original performance versus 48.3% for the S24 Ultra.
Recall that Exynos 2400 is produced using a 4-nanometer process technology at Samsung facilities, and the top platform — at the facilities of TSMC, whose technological process is considered the best. Moreover, the S24 Ultra has a larger cooling system.
In addition, the specified test checks the GPU, and it was the GPU that had the main complaints about the Exynos 2200. It seems that Samsung managed to solve several problems at once, and very effectively.
