Microsoft has fixed a long-standing Explorer glitch in Windows 11 that made users suspect their PCs had been hacked

It took more than a year

It took Microsoft fifteen months to solve the problem with «Explorer» in Windows 11, which caused it to simply come to the foreground without warning.

In other words, the user could perform one or another task on the computer, and «Explorer» suddenly appeared on top of all open windows for no reason. With the release of the cumulative update for December (KB5033375), the problem is fixed. As stated by Microsoft:

This update fixes an issue that affects Explorer windows. When the user is not waiting, windows appear in the foreground.

The error occurs randomly, and even worse, in some scenarios it can appear every hour. The thing about this problem is that it's not just distracting or annoying, but it can also cause some users to falsely suspect that their system has been hacked because the computer is doing things on its own when you don't touch the keyboard or mouse.&nbsp ;
