With the new model CR450
This year China will begin serial production of CR450 trains, which will be able to travel at speeds of up to 400 km per hour.
The CR450 will reportedly use new materials such as permanent magnets, magnesium alloy and carbon fiber. The weight of the train, fully loaded with passengers, will be reduced from more than 500 tons to 460 tons, and traction power will increase to 11,000 kW. Thanks to the constantly improving characteristics of the braking equipment, the train will still be able to stop within the established emergency braking distance even from a speed of 400 km/h. Energy consumption can be reduced by 20%.
Back on June 28, 2023, a test train crossed the Meizhou Bay Crossing Bridge of the Fuzhou-Xiamen High Speed Railway at a maximum speed of 453 km/h.
China's high-speed electric trains currently operate at a maximum speed of 350 kilometers per hour, supported by Fuxing CR400AF and CR400BF models. The CR400/300/200 trains used travel at speeds of 350, 250 and 160 km/h respectively.
