But no details yet
Taiwan Economic Newspaper reports that literally all of TSMC's 3nm products are now reserved by just four leading tech giants: Apple, Qualcomm, Nvidia and AMD. And this will lead to higher prices.
Orders are reported to be completed by 2026. Even though TSMC's 3nm production capacity has nearly tripled compared to last year, demand is now at its peak. Particularly due to the AI boom. In this regard, it is reported that companies are opting for significant price increases as TSMC's supply and demand chain is now unbalanced.
TSMC itself has not yet announced its intention to increase prices for such products, although such a decision cannot be ruled out.
That said, the company has already demonstrated a commitment to expansion by converting some of its 5nm production lines to 3nm production and aiming to reach a monthly wafer output of 180,000 units, which could improve the situation.
