Now most people have been using iPad for three years or more
The average length of time a smartphone is used before a shift is gradually increasing, and new CIRP data shows the same is true for iPads.
A survey of analysts showed that owners of Apple tablets continue to use their devices longer and longer before replacing them. In 2022, the largest percentage of iPad owners (34%) had only used the tablet for one to two years before replacing it. Now there are only 25% of such users, and the largest share (40%) has been using their iPad for three years or more. In 2022, the share of such users was 28%.
At the same time, what’s interesting is that the share of those who use a tablet for two or three years and then exchange it for a new one has remained almost unchanged, and the share of those who change their tablet more than once a year has fallen from 15% up to 10%.
Analysts speculate that the changes are due to the lack of any notable innovations in iPadOS, which makes the ever-increasing performance meaningless for most.
If you look at the reviews of the new iPad Pro on M4, many bloggers note that these are very good products, but compared to the iPad Pro on M1, due to the lack of innovations in iPadOS, the new tablets do not provide any new user experience experience, and the main advantages will only be in weight and size parameters and the screen.
