At the same time, here is Snapdragon 8s Gen 3
In addition to the budget smartphone Moto G64, Motorola also presented its new flagship device called Moto Edge 50 Ultra.
This is a global model, which in China may well be released under a different name. In Europe it will go on sale in the coming weeks at a price of 1000 euros.
This is very expensive for a Motorola device, but the smartphone also offers a lot, although there are questions about it. For example, at this price, the heart here is the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 SoC, and not a full-fledged Gen 3. Let us recall that the 8s Gen 3 is technically close to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, and it is somewhat strange to see such a SoC in a smartphone for $1000.
But the memory here is at least 12/512 GB, and there is also an option with 16 GB of RAM and 1 TB of flash memory. The main camera has a resolution of 50 megapixels and is based on a 1/3-inch optical sensor. There is also an ultra-wide-angle camera with the same resolution and a 64 MP periscope camera for close-up shooting.
The screen of the new product is based on a POLED panel. It is curved and has a diagonal of 6.7 inches with a resolution of 2712 x 1220 pixels. There is also support for 144 Hz. This screen is Pantone Validated and Pantone Skintone Validated.
The battery capacity is 4500 mAh, there is support for 125-watt charging and 50-watt wireless charging. Other highlights include water resistance (IP68), Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, UWB support, a USB-C 3.2 port with DisplayPort 1.4 support, and Peach Fuzz, which was chosen as Pantone's Color of the Year 2024.
