Next year there will be more flagships with 5500 mAh batteries? This is possible, but we are talking about the need to compensate for the consumption of Snapdragon 8 Gen 4

There may be no increase in autonomy

New generation flagship smartphones equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 SoC may more often receive larger batteries.

Digital Chat Station insider says that he knows that three next-generation devices are already being tested, and all are equipped with 5500 mAh batteries. What kind of models these are or at least what brands they belong to is unknown. But the insider says many manufacturers may opt for similar batteries. However, it is too early to rejoice at the growth of autonomy. The reason for this choice is that it is necessary to somehow compensate for the increased power consumption of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 SoC. So the new models will not necessarily last longer on a single charge than the current ones with smaller batteries.

The increased power consumption of the new Qualcomm SoC can be explained by the lack of energy-efficient cores in the CPU. This approach is now being followed by MediaTek in its Dimensity 9300. At the same time, Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 should also be the first in this segment to receive Oryon cores, which, according to early rumors, due to their initial focus on more powerful processors, cannot boast of energy efficiency in the mobile segment they can.

Previously, Digital Chat Station was the first to accurately report the specifications and release dates of Redmi K50 and Xiaomi 12.
