These will be the future Russian passenger aircraft? TsAGI showed the layout of a mainline airliner with an oval fuselage

Apparently, TsAGI believes that the future lies with twin-fuselage aircraft

Scientists of the Central Aerohydrodynamic Institute, within the framework of the XXII All-Russian school-seminar on aerodynamics and flight dynamics of aircraft, presented the appearance of the main liner of the future (for example, a potential successor to the MS-21).

Scientists presented four reports, which showed the appearance of promising aircraft. At the moment, the concept of a two-fuselage scheme is being considered: fuel tanks are supposed to be placed in the right fuselage with a round cross-section, and in the left fuselage, with an oval cross-section, passengers and cargo are supposed to be placed. Scientists have conducted a number of studies proving the benefits of this configuration. The promising airliner is planned to be equipped with three engines.
