Less than 500 430 Scuderia Spider 16M
were produced
Ferrari cars are known for their power and rarity, but this 430 Scuderia Spider 16M is interesting for another reason. The convertible, released in 2008 to celebrate 16 Formula 1 constructors' titles, was equipped with a factory iPod Touch.
Ferrari 430 Scuderia Spider 16M is up for sale at HR Owen in the UK. Ferrari produced only 499 units, but not everyone had an iPod Touch. As an alternative, the car was also offered with a traditional Becker Cascade radio with iPod connectivity and Bluetooth. The 16GB iPod Touch came with the machine in an Alcantara case and included a Quick Reference Guide.
The removable iPod Touch, which predates Apple CarPlay, was located in a dock on the center console. An interesting fact is that Ferrari was the first automaker to fully integrate Apple CarPlay back in 2014 when FF came out. As for the iPod Touch, Apple will discontinue this product line in 2022.
When the 430 Scuderia Spider 16M came out, Apple offered a 32GB version of the iPod Touch, but Ferrari chose to go with the 16GB model instead.
