According to Autostat Info, in February 2024, 255% more electric vehicles were sold in Russia than in the same period last year. We are talking specifically about «pure» electric vehicles, excluding hybrids. In February of this year, Russians purchased 1,976 such cars, whereas a year ago — total 556 pieces.
The most popular cars were the Chinese brand Zeekr, and over the year the number of cars sold on the Russian market increased from 15 to 985 units. Evolute takes second place: 168 electric vehicles sold compared to 143 units sold last February. Then follow Volkswagen (155 units versus 117 a year earlier) and the Russian «Moskvich» (107 cars, whereas in February last year only 7 such cars were sold). Tesla closes the top five leaders in the Russian market: in February of this year, the company managed to sell only 69 cars in Russia, although a year ago their number was 82.
As for the most popular electric vehicle models in Russia in February, the top five include Zeekr 001 (985 units), Zeekr X (168 units), Evolute I-Pro (149 cars sold), & ;Moskvich 3E» (107 pieces) and Volkswagen ID. 4 (101 electric vehicles).
