It is designed for mining dump trucks, but can be used on ships
They promise to produce a prototype at MMZ in 2025. The Minsk Motor Plant (MMZ) will produce a V16 engine with a volume of 69 liters for mining dump trucks with a load capacity of 220 –290 tons, as stated by the head of the design bureau of special-purpose engines of the main department designer of the Minsk Motor Plant
In the V16 engine, the working volume of one cylinder will be 4.3 liters, and the total working volume — 69 liters. The length of the motor exceeds 3 meters, and the height and width — more than 2 meters. Such engines can also be used on ships.
The development of the motor started four years ago. MMZ employees have already developed a complete set of design documentation and created a large number of workpieces. The production of parts is currently underway, and the first prototype will be assembled this year.
General Director of the enterprise Alexander Botvinnik added that the Minsk Motor Plant will begin production of gasoline engines that will be equipped with equipment produced by the Belarusian «MotoVeloZavod»: mopeds, motorcycles and scooters are presented under the MINSK brand.
