If the new generation Xbox will appear in two years, then, of course, there is no point in releasing an intermediate solution now. At the same time, the early release of the new Xbox will lead to the fact that for some period — up to about two years — this console will be without a full-fledged competitor from Sony, but when the PS6 comes out, if the difference between the release of the consoles is significant enough, it will probably be the one that will already seem like a new generation compared to the Xbox.
Given that Xbox Series sales are now more than half those of the PS5, and last month the gap was even five times, perhaps Microsoft sees an early launch of the new generation as a chance to increase sales.
