The Core i9-11900K is still worthy. The processor allowed to set a new world record for memory latency

by alex

The previous one was installed using Core i9-14900KS

The Core i9-11900K processor was at one time considered by many thematic publications to be not the most successful due to a decrease in the number of cores relative to its predecessor and a small increase in performance. However, a new record on the HWBot platform was set precisely with his help.

This is not about overclocking and, of course, not about performance. The Core i9-11900K set a new world record for memory latencies. The system based on this not-so-new CPU managed to beat the previous record holder in the form of the Core i9-14900KS, overclocked to a frequency of almost 8.4 GHz.

Overclocker Splave set a record. He used a Core i9-11900K overclocked to 6.96 GHz, an ASRock Z590 OC Formula motherboard and G.Skill DDR4 memory overclocked to an effective frequency of 3914 MHz with CL12-11-11-18-1T timings.

The result in the PYPrime (32b) benchmark was 1 minute 37 seconds and 311 ms. And this is only 285 ms faster than the previous record holder, but a record is a record.
