The parties are already developing it

Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus Pyotr Parkhomchik said that the first experimental aircraft «Osvey» a joint Russian-Belarusian production should be released in 2026. «The goal is that in 2026 our first prototype, developed jointly with our Russian partners, will be produced», — Parkhomchik noted. According to him, the parties are now at the stage of developing the aircraft itself.

On the Russian side, the Ural Civil Aviation Plant (UZGA) will participate in the project, and on the Belarusian side — 558th Aviation Repair Plant. The Belarusian enterprise will receive the right to produce this aircraft. As part of the agreement with Russia, the Belarusian side will have to produce 178 fuselages by 2038, as well as 50% of the total number of Osvey aircraft themselves, but not less than 89 pieces.

As we already wrote, the Russian-Belarusian twin-engine turboprop aircraft «Osvey» will be able to carry up to 19 passengers and will have to perform a wide range of aviation work, including in remote and inaccessible areas. It was also reported that «Osway» will replace the Czech L-410 aircraft, which until 2022 was assembled at UZGA under license from the Czech manufacturer Aircraft Industries.
