For now only the name of the line
AMD has actually confirmed the existence of processors codenamed Strix Halo.
First, their IDs (GFX1150/1151) appeared in the ROMc database, and then the series names themselves.
Of course, there are no technical details there, since such processors will be released either in the second half of this year, or, if the latest rumors are true, even at the beginning of 2025.
That being said, the Strix Halo will be one of the most unusual AMD consumer CPUs in recent years. According to early data, they will have up to 16 processor cores and an integrated graphics processor, incredible by APU standards, with 40 CU units, that is, with 2560 stream processors, and even based on the RDNA 3.5 architecture. For comparison, the Radeon RX 7600/7600 XT only has 32 CUs, while the PlayStation 5 has a GPU with 36 CUs, and in both cases the architecture will be older than the Strix Halo.
In the end, these processors will actually form a new class of consumer APUs with an ultra-efficient GPU and at the same time a very powerful CPU. This will be some kind of AMD's answer to Apple M, although the latter will clearly be more energy efficient.
