Sales of the new product will begin in the spring
AvtoVAZ is no longer the owner of LLC «Avtozavod St. Petersburg» (former Nissan plant), as written by Sergei Tsyganov, a famous auto expert and host of the telegram channel «Russian Automobile».
LLC «Avtozavod St. Petersburg» was sold to another legal entity, while the transaction was presumably completed on January 24: «Information about this is not displayed in the Unified State Register of Legal Entities. The founders of Avtozavod St. Petersburg LLC are generally hidden there, and this is only possible in three cases: the legal entity is under sanctions, it is located in Crimea, or it produces military products. It is obvious that in relation to LLC „Avtozavod St. Petersburg“ Only the first option is applicable, AvtoVAZ came under sanctions and this gave it the opportunity not to disclose itself as the founder of LLC „Avtozavod St. Petersburg“».
But if AvtoVAZ no longer owns LLC «Avtozavod St. Petersburg», then the Unified State Register of Legal Entities should have revealed the new owner, unless he… (see above). But it’s somehow difficult to imagine that the former Nissan plant came into the possession of a legal entity that is also under sanctions.

Sergey Tsyganov noted that this is very similar to a “formal change of founder, so as not to expose the new Chinese partner, which is Chery, to secondary sanctions.”
Previously it became known that the Chery Tiggo 7 Pro crossover, popular in Russia, which is assembled at the St. Petersburg Avtozavod plant, will be released on the market under the name XCITE X-Cross 7.
